Might just be the best instrumental gig of the year. This happened and here is the proof.
Liverpool math/prog-rock quartet Kusanagi kick-started an epic night of instrumental mayhem at NewPath.
Their
thundering guitar riffs warmed up the crowds nicely at Mello Mello at a
night of alternative music, organised in conjunction with You Do The
Math.
With
a seemingly never-ending reserve of energy, Muto Leo thrashed on to the
stage. Guitarist Scott Williams wished his sister a Happy Birthday and
to the delight of the audience, the band performed a new song dedicated
to her.
Wrexham
band Gallops, who headlined the BBC Introducing stage at Reading
Festival last year, wowed crowds with their Battles-esque performance.
For
post-rock istrumentalists, MinionTV, it was their final gig of the year
and they ended on a high, performing songs from their latest release,
The Last Projectionist.
Headlining
the night was Leicestershire five-piece Maybeshewill who stunned a
packed audience with their powerful blend of atmospheric and electronic
post-rock.
